I believe that one of the most important things to learn in life is that you can make a difference in your community no matter who you are or where you live. – Rosalynn Carter

Group Volunteering

Service has become a popular way for groups to make an impact in their community while getting a chance to bond with each other. CRC is happy to host any group that is searching for projects that will help with wildlife conservation.

Types of groups we have worked with:

  • Scout groups
  • Faith-based organizations
  • Businesses
  • Schools
  • Community groups

Since our facility is mainly outdoors, our volunteer projects tend to be outside too!

Group volunteers often help with:

  • landscaping (weeding, planting, mulching)
  • maintaining trails (spreading gravel, raking leaves, trimming overhanging plants)
  • updating enclosures (repairing fencing, painting, building new perches)

Details

  • Groups of 20 or fewer work best for the type of projects available at Carolina Raptor Center.
    • If you have more than 20 we ask that you split your group, coming at two different times on the same day or on two different days.
  • All participants must be at least 15 years old at the time of service.
  • Openings are available through December 31, 2017.
    • Actual dates and times are listed on the application.
    • Opportunities for 2018 will be opened on November 1, 2017.
  • Carolina Raptor Center gives scheduling priority to volunteer groups that can donate the cost of materials or other items necessary to complete projects.
