Staff and volunteers at this hidden hospital in the woods treats over 900 injured and orphaned birds a year – more than any other US raptor center. Over 70% are released back into the wild!

A Docent is trained to educate visitors about raptors and raptor conservation.
Docents are integral in educating visitors about raptor conservation. We limit unnecessary human and bird interactions as much as possible for the comfort of the birds. Because of this, Docents do not handle live birds.
Before they can volunteer, Docents MUST attend one of the following mandatory trainings in 2022:
Due to limitations on staff, individual trainings are not possible at this time.
Minimum of 4 hours per month
Days and times are flexible
Commitment of at least 6 months
Must attend one of the in-person training classes
Submit a Docent application HERE. This link is currently disabled. It will be reactivated on August 1st for candidates who would like to join the September training!
If you are under the age of 16 years old please visit the Junior Docent page for more information.
When you submit an application you will receive a confirmation email that your application was received. You will receive a separate email from the Volunteer Coordinator within five business days on how to set up an interview with CRC Staff.
