Educate Your Community and Yourself

It is astonishing how short a time it takes for wonderful things to happen. – Francis H. Burnett

A Docent is trained to educate visitors about raptors and raptor conservation.

  • Watch over assigned exhibits
  • Answer visitor questions
  • Have conversations about the birds
  • Educate using props
  • Teach others how to help raptors in the wild
  • Lead hands-on activities

Docents are integral in educating visitors about raptor conservation. We limit unnecessary human and bird interactions as much as possible for the comfort of the birds. Because of this, Docents do not handle live birds.

Before they can volunteer, Docents MUST attend one of the following mandatory trainings in 2022:

  • TBA

Due to limitations on staff, individual trainings are not possible at this time.
