Carolina Raptor Center is located on 57 acres inside Latta Nature Preserve, a 1,500-acre nature preserve, part of the watershed for Charlotte, NC. For over 30 years, CRC has partnered with Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation to provide environmental education opportunities for visitors from around the corner and across the world.

The approximately 3/4 mile, self-guided Raptor Trail features over 20 species of birds which guests can photograph and learn more about. Special events and encounters are also held here throughout the year.


The Raptor Trail is Currently Open Winter Hours (Wednesday - Sunday): 

Morning Session: 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM
Closed for Lunch & Cleaning: 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM
Afternoon Session: 1:30 PM – 4:00 PM

Admission Fees 
$12 - Adults
$10 - Seniors, Teachers, Military Adults
$8  - Students 4 and Older with Student ID
Free – Children 3 and Under and Members

Closed: Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day

Guests are not required to arrive immediately at the start of their ticketing session. From 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM ticketing, the gift shop, and restrooms are closed. Guests who are admitted prior to 12:30 PM are welcome to continue to explore the Raptor Trail between 12:30 PM and 1:30 PM. The Raptor Trail closes at 4:00 PM and guests are encouraged to arrive by 3:00 PM to ensure time to explore.

Tickets are non-refundable but may be rescheduled. Tickets must be rescheduled at least 24 hours in advance or are forfieted. To reschedule your tickets, please send your order number, name, date and time of the session you would like to reschedule your tickets for to
