Kids for Conservation Summer Day Camps

Carolina Raptor Center is thrilled to present the eighth year of our Kids for Conservation Summer Day Camp! We are dedicated to a mission of environmental education, with a goal of engaging and inspiring our campers to make environmentally friendly choices.

Camp spaces are limited, and priority is given to early registrants. A $50 deposit is due upon registration. Health forms and information packets will be sent via email once your child is registered.

Our Campers...
...come from all over the greater Charlotte area, each adding to the energy and fun of camp. Diverse backgrounds and different experiences bring an important dynamic to the learning while at camp.

Our Counselors...
...include professional educators with college degrees, college interns and counselors in training and outdoor education experiences. Each adult is First Aid and CPR certified and brings knowledge and enthusiasm to each day at camp.

Camp Times: Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
Early drop off & late pick up: Drop off 8:00 am - 8:30 am Pick up 4:30 pm - 5:00 pm

Cost: Each week long session costs $199 for CRC members and $249 for non-members. There will be two optional overnights available for an additional $35, with limited space available. Overnight dates are July 23rd and July 30th.

NEW for 2010! Eager Eaglets

A half-day camp for younger raptor lovers! Your own eager eaglet will learn about raptors and our environment through age appropriate activities and daily raptor encounters. Please note that cost and times are different for this camp.

Camp Times: Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 12:00 pm
Early drop off & late pick up: Drop off 8:00 am - 8:30 am Pick up 12:00 pm - 12:30 pm

Cost: Each week long session costs $149 for CRC members and $199 for non-members.

Ages: 4-6
Session: June 21-25, 2010

Wings of Wonder
Campers explore adaptations, habitat, and environmental topics through hands-on lessons, games and crafts. With daily raptor encounters, outdoor adventures, and nature photography, campers will bring home smiles and stories each and every day!

Ages: 7-10
Session: June 28-July 2


Hawkwarts: A Camp for Muggles
Meet us at platform nine and three quarters for a thrilling ride to Hawkwarts! During this Harry Potter themed camp, campers will blend fantasy and reality together through science experiments, art projects, and botany. Classes such as Care of Magical Creatures, Wands, and Potions will engage creative young minds and expose campers to every day "magic".

Ages: 8-12
Sessions: July 5-9, July 12-16, and July 19-23, 2010


Radical Raptor Adventures
Back by popular demand, a raptor camp for nature lovers ages 11 to 14! Campers will explore animal behavior, forest ecology and environmental issues through hands-on lessons, activities and projects. With daily raptor encounters, outdoor adventures and nature photography, campers will come away with an enriched sense of environmental awareness and a newfound respect for the natural world.

Ages: 11-14
Session: July 26-30, 2010
