Husbandry & Training Seminar 2017

Carolina Raptor Center's Bi-Annual Husbandry & Training Seminar Is Coming Up December 9th and 10th!

Come and join us for our Husbandry & Training Seminar where those with or without prior experience will learn to care for birds of prey and to apply basic training techniques. This two day seminar will feature over a dozen workshops that include: lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on experience about all aspects of raptor husbandry and positive reinforcement.

Saturday, December 9th, focuses on raptor anatomy, capture and restraint, physical examinations, common injuries, common signs of illness, and a beak coping workshop.  An optional parasitology workshop is also available at the end of the day (space limited).

Sunday, December 10th, focuses on raptor behavior, positive reinforcement, basic handling, equipment making and application techniques, and conservation messaging.  An optional hands-on raptor handling workshop is also available at the end of the day (space limited).

Space is limited to 15 participants per day with 5 participants for each optional hands-on workshop. So make sure to register now!
