Three weekends a year, two in the Spring and one in the fall. The denizens of the Raptor Trail emerge from their enclosures and pose for the cameras. You can get in on the fun with a single day ticket or a pass for the entire weekend. Affordably priced for members and non-members alike. The next session is scheduled for October 14 and 15. Wild Bird Photography
This new class is for photographers who want to improve their skills photographing in the great out of doors. The class requires two sessions 7 days apart so that you can practice your new skills and get feedback from the rest of the class. Next session scheduled for September 24 and October 1. Sustainability Salons 
Carolina Raptor Center's speaker series, “The Sustainability Salon,” is designed to engage the community by bringing local, regional and nationally-respected speakers to discuss topics relevant to protecting the environment and conserving its natural resources.

The “Sustainability Salon” will reach out beyond our campus in Latta Plantation Nature Preserve to bring environmental education engagement opportunities to the community. Charlotte has few regularly recurring speaker series that address the environment and wildlife conservation. Local and national speakers will provide remarks and engage in dialogue around environmental  with attendees and special community guests. The Salon series includes the following kinds of adult education

Big Ideas
Two national speakers a year will join Carolina Raptor Center and its sponsors for a topic of national significance. Past speakers have included Cincinnati Zoo Director Thane Maynard and Artist 

Bird Brains 
Part of the Continuing Education series for Carolina Raptor Center's staff and volunteers. The community is invited to attend four lectures a year at Carolina Raptor Center. Topics have included: "The Mating Habits of Birds" with Dr. Jeff Thomas and "The Physics of Flight" with the CRC Flight Team.

This four-part summer/fall series features how-to presentations on sustainability topics at local craft breweries. Grab a brew to support Carolina Raptor Center and learn something in the bargain. Topics have included Composting 101, Reduce your Energy Footprint and Reduce your Water Consumption. Last Birds+Brews of the season will be held in October 2017 when NoDa Brewing Company will host a Public Conversation on Transportation right on the new Blue Line Extension. More Info.
