 Owl Prowls
See CRC and Latta Plantation Nature Reserve from the owls perspectives. This event is kid-friendly and encouraged for people of all ages. At Owl Prowl you will enjoy dinner by local food trucks, activities, and two different hiking options. On the hikes you will either explore one of Latta Plantation Nature Reserve's hiking trails to find real owls in the wild or, the kid-friendly option, tour our Raptor Trail to find our resident owls. Our Educators will talk to you about all the cool features owls have in comparison to other raptors during your hike.

Hoot and Howl: Day of the Dead
Saturday, October 31, 2015
11 am - 3:00 pm

Carolina Raptor Center’s 2015 Hoot and Howl Celebration has taken on a Day of the Dead twist this fall. Held on the traditional Dia de Los Muertos, we’ll be remembering extinct species with Calaveras (poems/epitaphs), making paper flowers, engaging in traditional face painting and exploring the sugar skull tradition. We’ll also include some traditional Halloween games and crafts including a costume contest, pumpkin painting, Trick or Treating and making paper plate skeletons. At 11 am, enjoy the Meet the Raptors, owl edition on our Festival area stage, 12:30 pm is feeding time for our resident “death eaters,” the Vultures, and at 2-3 pm activities on the Raptor Trail.
