Hoot and Howl: Day of the Dead
Saturday, October 31, 2015
11 am - 3:00 pm

Carolina Raptor Center’s 2015 Hoot and Howl Celebration has taken on a Day of the Dead twist this fall. Held on the traditional Dia de Los Muertos, we’ll be remembering extinct species with Calaveras (poems/epitaphs), making paper flowers, engaging in traditional face painting and exploring the sugar skull tradition. We’ll also include some traditional Halloween games and crafts including a costume contest, pumpkin painting, Trick or Treating and making paper plate skeletons. At 11 am, enjoy the Meet the Raptors, owl edition on our Festival area stage, 12:30 pm is feeding time for our resident “death eaters,” the Vultures, and at 2-3 pm activities on the Raptor Trail.
