The following opportunities are currently available at Carolina Raptor Center.

Senior Bird Keeper and Trainer
The Senior Bird Keeper & Trainer is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the proper husbandry and training of the department’s animal ambassadors, including gloved trained education birds and flight team. This includes the preparation and administration of diets; scheduling of medical care with Bird Keeper & Trainer and hospital staff; maintenance of complete and accurate animal records, training plans, etc. The Senior Bird Keeper & Trainer will work with the Programs Director to design and manage the summer free-flight show. Responsible for contributing to a positive work environment and can do culture.

Duties include preparing diets, feeding/training animals in assigned area, cleaning exhibits, minor repairs in exhibits, establishing training plans for education and flight birds, grounds maintenance in and around exhibits, operant conditioning, interaction with visitors, assist with animal programs for education classes, assist with set-up and work during special events, and help lead daily activities of the Resident Bird Care department.
